How many of the P6PRO users are using an external amplifier with the unit ?
I am thinking of pairing mine with Aroma Audio 100TB.
I have heard comments here and there on how sometimes the sound of an r2r dac can diminish with some amplification pair ups.
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts he could share please?
arrived today, I am converting my 1tb to fat32 from exfat, very long process.
I will check with and without the C9 but I think that the annihilator needs the C9 to be well driven.
I will post my impression later.

I use mine with external amps more than I use it directly. The Internal amp certainly has a sound of its own and is incredibly technically proficient but I do feel it is worth while to use external amps (especially with overears) depending on the goal.

Agree. If you use it mainly with IEMs, then the built in amp is more than sufficient. Even the P6P is more than capable. I listen on low gain at around 8-10 for BA based IEMs. All the way up to 32 on high gain for DD based IEMs like the FitEar DC Ti which is one of the more difficult to drive IEMs around.
P6/P6Pro magic is been great stand-alone dap. If you want something which sounds natural, and light to carry, it is it. Its main con is the lack of gapless playback.
It would have been great for them to release the P6pro as a stand-alone dac/amp , allowing one to use it with their laptop. That would be amazing.
Alright ! I am not the only one it seems on here maxing the p6pro out
Also I find- finding the accurate volume level rather difficult past 55. Wish they made smaller increments in db going past 55. Perhap made volume available till 70.

I mostly listen to classical and yes gap less it is important but I can live without it since it's great sound. Perhaps a search function and bit more user friendly playlist system will help more.(Imho)
Hifiman HM1000 black/gold with its 4xpcm1704k should be a USB dac/amp right for you, basically an lp6 without screen.

That must be a killer combination with the c9!
Especially since I find the p6pro lack density, on drum hits, for example at high volume.
I will be getting Aroma 100tb amp, its form factor is exactly matching. I just hope the synergy is as well.
It sounds very good. I am using the C9 in tube mode. Yes punch on kickdrum it's much better but without loose the p6p sound.
Great to know you will get the Aroma Stack, waiting your impressions on how sounds with the P6P
Heheh! Sadly, Wan from LP is quite adamant about not composing sound quality for android. But the LP7 will come with BT like the P6Ps. So you can use LDAC from your android devices.
