I was playing around with my DVP-NS500V last night with a TV plugged into it after watching the first two terminator movies.
I ended up changing the audio filter or whatever it is called from SHARP to SLOW.
The sound is much smoother now. Highs are imho in their place now and the sound has more body to it than before. Bass is still a bit thin but its not as bad as prior.
The sound is just as coherent as before but I must say sounds a bit more relaxed.
The problems that I was having with this player have suddenly been halved. A great relief.
This discovery has put off the immediate need for buying a new CDP at least for a short while (which is good seeing as how I ran out of money).
Has anyone else with this player ended up using the filter on SLOW instead of SHARP? WHat kind of difference does it make for you guys?
Cheers,
