Hello,
I have a question regarding standalone amps. I just ordered a DACmini CX integrated dac/amp for use with my HD650's/ER-4S's.. I'm interested in buying a tube amp that pairs well with my low impedance Grado RS-1's. The CX isn't designed for low impedance headphones which is why I'm looking at a standalone amp.
Will using a standalone amp with the integrated dac/amp in the CX degrade sound quality? My concern is adding the additional signal path of a second amp where one already exists will modify negatively impact sound quality at worst, or at best be a waste with no improvement over using just the original dac/amp combo. Thoughts?
