didnt want to cause any copyright trouble but I did want people to see..

I really thought nothing was bad in the pics.

The lack of proper strain relief on the components is a concern of mine. Being the tube amp gets hot as the internals expand and contract with temperature cycling the components will be exposed to undue stress which can lead to premature failure.

Ok, I'll start.
At first glance it looks like spaghetti wiring.
Does (or can) this affect the sound?
It might if signal wires are running perpendicular to the power ones.

But to be fair some shots of the whole amp would be nice.
Just about anything could look like a mess with super close ups.

If nothing poses a safety hazard then I really don't care how its wired.

//Dons Flame Suit and looks around in fear before posting

* Looks VERY messy in there

* Potential fire hazard / Electrical Hazard - if wires come loose and touch the case then with all the power in there there could be trouble.

* Doesnt look very "planned" and I am concerned about differences between two amps because of the wiring mess...

* Resistors are in the air - doesnt look terribly "well built" and no insulation tape / heatshrink has been used.

* Soldering looks ok but there is residual flux everywhere and in my book - this is not a great idea

* Otherwise - even though it is not as pretty as some point to point implementations that I have seen - it works right?

uh oh...I said it GULP!

A request for the photographer. Would it be possible to take a wider angle shot of the whole amp with the cover off, in order to get some perspective on the sizes of everything we're looking at and the overall layout?

Just a thought, not a big deal if you've already closed it up and put it back on the shelf.

Thanks for sharing.

Maybe the sound quality is not affected or compromised, but sorry, I'm an obsessed with aestetics, and you have to agree that it could be a little neater, like this for example (courtesy of tuberoller):

Not to question the guy's integrity but how do I know that I am looking at a Singlepower MPX3's insides? There is no indication anywhere...

A wider shot showing the amp and then the insides will quell my concerns.

Cheers!

Perhaps the original owner of the amp can chime in with better details. This is an MPX3.

I have nothing to say about the pictures posted here. I can say that the seven other Singlepower amps I have opened(four of the older models and three more recent models) have all looked very similar in build and layout to this amp. I cannot post my pictures due to possible liability.

Those are called Twist-locs and are used in household wiring. I do not use them and do not allow any of my electricians to use them. We use heat-shrink connectors.
