Anyone build an input selector for their DIY amp? I have about 4 sources and don't want to have to go under my computer desk everytime I want to switch.

Thanks, but don't need volume control, should be easy to get rid of it.

Somebody tell me if this is wrong.

From the inputs, ('ll probably have 5), the hot leads for the left and right channels go to the rotary switch. From the rotary switch, 2 hot wires, (1 for right and 1 for left) will be spliced and go to 2 toggle switches. I want these switches cause I will have 2 outputs, 1 for my speakers and another for my META42. I also want to be able to switch them off. And as for the negatives, I'm not quite sure what to do with them. That's basically it, right?

If you have at least a three pole switch,
you should switch the grounds also. This
reduces possible hum/ground loops.
Why 2 toggle switches? Single pole?

Would a 4 pole work also? I'm gonna be using RCA interconnects.

O, and the toggle switches are for switching between the 2 outputs. I want to be able to turn them both on or both off.

The toggle switch looks good, but why not get a three pole (or 4) double throw switch? Sure it costs more, but
you'll only need one.

As far as the rotary switch goes, you get what you pay for. At that price, I'd say your
buying crap. I'd go for a Greyhill from
Digi-key, very nice. And yes, 4 poles will work, you
simply don't use the extra poles...

Note that your switch is 4 position, you
need a 5 position switch according to your
previous post.

I'd get this:

It's four poles (2 poles per deck)
and six positions. A bit expensive;
but if you don't switch grounds, you can use a 2 pole, which is
about $11.

Ok, double throw it is.

And Digi-key doesnt carry any 3 pole Greyhill rotary switches.

And what kind maker should I look for in a toggle switch, RCA jacks and a 1/8" stereo female jack?

The switch isn't too much. Thanks.

NKK is great for toggles, stick with that.

The Dayton Audio RCA jacks at Partsexpress
are very nice, and don't cost too much ($6.00 a pair or so). As for the 1/8" female, I hear the switchcraft jack is
good, or, at least, as good as they get.
