My dad was a record collector and left me what looks like thousands of 78 rpms . They have been stored in his music cabinet 8 feet high by 10 feet long packed with 78s. He loved these records.....what the hell am I gonna do with this collection?

Have a look through them, catelog the lot (with picturs of the covers and as much information), find any that have any meaning to either you or members of your family, then take any you dont want to a specalist.

You could also put them all onto your computer

or just keep them

if your dad left them for you, I think selling them would be the wrong thing to do.

you have can
1. Preserve them as a family heirloom
or
2. Continue the hobby

Selling something your father left for you to care is just wrong IMO.
