Dear Sir / Madam,

My name is Andy, I am a freelance Industrial Designer currently living and working in London. I'm writing with the hope that you'll be able to give some initial direction in what will be my first foray into audio product design.

I have ideas for a set of open headphones which I plan to prototype and, if the demand seems to be there, market directly, albeit in small numbers. I have been lucky enough to find a contact who is an acoustics engineer who I may or may not approach for advice, but I was hoping people on this forum might be able to lead me to a source of internal components (drivers particularly) as I don't simply want to 'steal' from an existing producer. I will no doubt have more specific questions later on but I don't want to swamp anyone for now!

As a business entity I am a sole designer for hire, so it is unlikely for this project that I will get into any electronic component design myself, especially since this project is a labour of love for now.

I would appreciate any direction you might be able to give me, and I will be sure to keep you in touch as things progress. I hope to hear from some of you and I really appreciate your time.
