Im new to this website and glad I found it. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and hopefully give me great advices.
Im looking for new headphones and an amp to match them on my PC. Ive been using my HDJ 1000s for the past 5 years and they were my first good ones so Im pretty much new to this kind of "quest". I have done several researchs but Im still undecided as the amount of standards I take into account makes my choice difficult.
Heres what Im looking for in a pair of cans: Over-hear and open, comfortable, non-fatiguing, great soundstage and imaging, great bass(good quantity and quality), mids(good quantity and quality) and trebble(airy, good quantity and quality), well balanced, clear and detailed sound, rather warm than neutral, lively, responsive and not too agressive.
Im willing to spend up to 500$ for my headphones, preferably less, and up to 125$ for a good amp to match them.
I need them to be allrounders: I mostly listen to EDM(say 70% of the time) such as techno/acid techno, drum & bass/neurofunk/jungle/liquid, trance/prog trance, minimal/tech minimal, house/tech house, etc. I also listen to hip hop, acid jazz/jazz, classical, experimental, alternative rock/rock, grunge, metal, etc.
I need them to be good for gaming, movies/tv shows.
Right now I consider my options to be: HE-4, DT990, HD 650
I would really appreciate any advice, anything that can help me make up my mind, suggestions, experiences, anything really but preferably detailed (Im really interested in every aspect).
