I'm just getting into "high end headphones" and would like the best portable headphones for 300. I would like detach cable also. I'm a audiophile and just joined this site. I want pushy bass but it should not drown out mids and highs like my crossfade lps. The mids should be warm. The highs should be Crystal clear. I listen to alot of dubstep, rap, electronic, classical, r&b, and lots of song that with highs. The headphones should not leak. I want good soundstage and should be able to hear every part of the music. Some of my friends have the new beats studios and they suck except for the bass. Will a amp be able to recess the bass or do they suck so bad I shouldn't touch it. Like I said I can go up to $350 max

Don't try to use an amp to "fix" headphones. Get headphones that have the sound you like, and get an amp if you need it to make them sound the way they are supposed to sound.

So - you want a closed headphone with good isolation and a detachable cable. Lots of bass, but still have good mids and highs. Good soundstage and a price range of $300 - $350.

What will these headphones be connected to? Will there be an amp?

For poratbility and good sound, the V-Moda M-100's are a great choice.

Momentums are pretty good too

I had V-MODA M80 n M100s both very good but if ur n audiophile the M100 IMO r very bright n fatiguing so for me who likes realism n detail the momentums r better n lighter but the M100 have a better case for travel. .I also have BEATS MIXER for house n hip hop for the gym..
