I've been told this is the best place to come for headphone advice and I need some right now so here it goes.

I need a pair of new in-ear headphones. My Shure E2c's are dead for the third time in 8 months. I was looking for something in the $100 USD range. Also, something that goes around the ear and behind the head for sports and other active things. I listen mostly to rock if that narrows it down any...

Thank you for all suggestions!

Hmmm....

I was also considering the shure E3c and E4c and most of all the UE super.fi 5.... any input on those? Is the bass on all of the suggested headphones better than the present but underpowered bass in the E2c's?

The e4c is a great IEM. Although it does not come with any behind the ear or behind the head snap-on modules. Still...nice stuff!

From my limited experience, the bass on Shure E2c is considered above average (at least in quantity) among IEMs. When I had it, it had a lot bass.

Shure e4c definitely has less bass than the E2c. I wouldn't consider it if you're looking for bassy IEMs. E3c is even less bassy than the E4c.
The super.fi 5 pro as I recall, has more and higher quality of bass compared to E2c.

For bassy IEMs, don't forget to consider the super.fi EB, Atrio M5, Mylarone XB and possibly Vibes, tho I never listened to any of them.

Also, the MylarOne X3 with the right tips (not the stock ones) produce some of best bass (in quality and quantity) compared to any other IEMs under $100.

Out of all the IEM's mentioned here, I've only ever heard the e3's.
Personally, I think they sound great. They're easy to drive, and the overall sound is amazing for the price. The bass, in particular, is pretty good. Although it may lack the impact that full - sized cans may offer, it is there, and sounds excellent.
