Kind of quiet ...

Has anyone heard from IMR lately? I emailed them 5 weeks ago with some news that would be beneficial to them and haven't heard back. Odd. I makes me feel like saying they are completely defunct now.

Anyway ... I'm a Vine reviewer for Amazon, and Sunday I received the Simgot EW300 (apparently "Love & X"). This is a 10 mm dynamic driver + 6 mm planar (annular) magnetic driver + piezoelectric ceramic driver in each side, and $69. I'm very impressed.

Modest but nice package. Solid shell. Maybe slightly heavy in the ear, but not a problem.

And there are two different nozzles ... this seems familiar.

The gold really brings the bass. At first I was thinking it was high bass quantity, while the quality wasn't as good. But then I remembered I had my Schiit Lokius set to max on the 20 hz dial. Listening on my FiiO, the concerns are diminished. Some serious rumble here without bleeding into the mids. They won't replace my Enigma, but wow will they be a great back-up set. I can't find anything wrong with these. Been awhile since I heard my old OG Elan and the Dark Matter, but I think these could be a little better.

At the price, these are astonishing.

Last note: I saw Hans Zimmer live in Seattle last week (a life-changing show) and I've been listening to his stuff about non-stop since. Everyone refers to "Why So Serious?" for testing sub-bass (and that track (technically The Dark Knight Suite) was shaking the building at the show!), but his score for The Last Samurai has some great low-end, as does his music for The Night Logan Woke Up. I recommend those to my basshead friends.

Hans Zimmer must have been amazing !
It's amazing that 69 usd iems are so good these days.
I have received a few emails from IMR the last few days. Since I am trying to settle my accounts with them and return some part of their refund after adjusting my iem trade in.

Their ebay listings stated that they were away until the 11th October if I remember the date correctly.

I think they are working hard on creating DAP and Archangel

I think they are working hard on creating DAP and Archangel so as to fleece more customers
Slightly reworded that for you

Any of you folks finally receive an email from IMR with an invoice to be paid not via Tidal but Squareup. Maybe they have finally solved things now. Though i am still going to wait for them to go process returns on their end.

Interesting. Brandon told me they stopped using PayPal some time ago. Guessing there were too many objections to Tide.

Paypal also hand a habit of suspending mechanism accounts when they hit a certain threshold of charge backs/ refund / payer protection claims as well, which is a distinct possibility given the EH situation.

Just listening to my MrWalkman modded Sony NW-A55 / IMR Dawn combo. They really are a very good iem for the £200 price, let alone whatever the Chinese oem price was. Really think if IMR could have stuck the landing on that one without all the cost / value shenanigans kicking off, they might have generated enough cash to dig their way out of the last financial hole.

Such a big (and detailed) sound from such a small iem.

Yes I have received several mails from Bob asking me to use squareup.
I don't even know what square up is. Is it safe , does anyone have any idea ?

They are a POS payment provider, so they are the tech that powers things like card readers in shops or market stalls or take payment on websites, etc.

https://squareup.com/gb/en?country_redirection=true

So, not a bank, just a service provider. IMR are basically asking you to pay their invoice via Squareup in the same way you might pay an invoice request that comes from PayPal- the monies will go via Squareup to a receiving bank account somewhere.

In and of itself it is "safe", but only in the same way that buying something online is safe, because that is effectively what you would be doing.

So effectively we would have no way of knowing if IMR will charge a dueback from the return they issued? If this is the case again this is fishy because it is a new invoice and not pertaining to the old invoice in which we have paid
