im now using a senn hd6xx from massdrop for my pc. i used f2k to play 16bit/44khz music
i already had a centrance Dacport dac/amp which was not mentioned a lot when paired with the senn. Will this little dac/amp can reveal all the sound that the hd6xx can perform?
The problems is when i play classical music, especialy the piano sounds somekind of blurry in low notes. I like how the senn go with the mid and treb but in some cases i need it more detailed especialy the low note of instruments, it still lack of something like the separation of the notes, like the senn just flow through it.
If i have to upgrade my dac/amp what will do it best under 250$ ? And do you suggest anything from massdrop, I've researched a little bit and the CTH was suggested a lot.
If the problem go with the hd6xx itself, do you suggest any headphone under 250$ for classical music? I've also own a im02 iem from ATH and i love the crunchy sound and detail it perform but i need some thing more neutral.

In my experience (HD600) they are not big on bass (kind of thin sound). That said, tubes will help improve this somewhat.

I own the hd58x, close but not quite the same sound and a bit easier to drive. Going amped to to unamped in my experience there is a difference but not enough that if you don't like it unamp that you will like it amped.

For the sound though test out True-Fi and see how you like it as it equilizes your headphones to sound more neutral. In my Superlux 668b it also gave it more clarity and overall sounded better.

Not personally familiar with your current DAC/amp, but you could get into a Schiit stack for the budget you have. If you had a bit more of a budget, I would urge you to look into tubes, as I think they go beautifully with the HD650/6XX. A very nice pairing. The headphones you have do scale very well, in my experience, so keep that in mind as you decide what to do. Good amplification is generally rewarded handsomely by these headphones.

tks for your cmt. do you think cth on drop will be a good choice, or any suggestion for tube under 300$?

Both could be the source of the problem.

First, you're using a USB-powered DAC-HPamp to drive a 300ohm headphone that, even with its high impedance, needs a fair bit of voltage. Not that it needs high voltage, but in as much as high impedance avoids impedance-related distortions, your problem there is a 5V/500mA power supply, which can have a similar problem delivering current to say a 93dB/1mW 35ohm or 62ohm headphone.

Second, that blurry sound can be due to the stronger low end of the HD6XX, on top of not having the same kind of airy separation as for example the AKG K701 or K702 (especially on the angled earpads).

You could try replacing the DAC-HPamp first. Not that it will make for a bigger improvement, but if it doesn't improve it by as much as you want, if you made the right choice then you can try a HiFiMan HE400i or an AKG K702.

Alternately if you want to try a different headphone first, there's the HiFiMan HE400S. Note that if you go that route and don't like it the low impedance, high sensitivity of that headphone (ie for hte most part it just needs any decent amp circuit, even USB-powered, that has decent output and more importantly not too high output impedance) means you should try another headphone instead of an amp.

That's about it if that's your price ceiling.
