I use an ALO Cryo Dock cable between my 5G iPod (not iMod) and it works great.

I just bought a used iMod 4G and when I connect my Hornet to it with the ALO Cryo Dock cable it doesn't make any sound.

What the heck is going on?

4G imod uses the headphone out as the line out. This means the dock line out is disabled. You'll need a mini to mini for your 4G to the Hornet.

The iMod uses the headphone out as it's lineout, not the dock....

you will need a mini-mini cable to connect it to your amp.

When Vinnie performs the mod, he disables the audio out through the dock connector. You have to use a mini to mini cable because he makes the headphone jack the new line out.

I think it's better if you buy ALO female mini dock and ALO mini to mini cable. So with this setup you can use with stock ipod through dock and mini to mini with 4G iMod. Also if you buy 5G iMod in future then you willbe able to use female dock(5G iMod BG caps include it it) and mini to mini with it. BTW it's maybe time to sell your Cryo dock.

The OP does not have a stock ipod; he has a 4G iMod. The ALO female mini dock will not work for 4G iMods.

I should have also mentioned that the other guys were correct in that you need a mini to mini cable. ALO is probably the best (and most expensive option), but you can get a cardas mini to mini cable from headphone.com (http://www.headphone.com/products/ca...mini-cable.php) for 14 bucks and it should sound just fine if you are short on cash.

So he has both a 5th gen standard ipod and a 4th gen iMod.
