i got to listen to the sr325 and the sr125 last night a magnolia hifi. the 125 was much more to my liking, and i'm going to get a pair. the dynamics and sheer power floored me. wow! i used the mzr50+cha47 for tests.

some questions:
is the sr125 the same as the music series 1 (allesandro), or very similar?

from headroom, which pads are included: donut, standard, or comfy? which pads are best for sound quality?

is the $15 1/4->1/8 grado adapter a good one, and is it included with the sr125 from headroom?

what is the grado warrantee like? what if it developes grattle, how much does it cost to repair (shipping, etc.)?

thanks!

p.s., the saleman asked me if i was interested in buying an orpheus!!

You get bowl pads as standard...

The only exceptions that are the SR60s with Comfies... and the SR40s with... lots of plastic

I'm surprised that you like the Grado sound... seeing that you and me came out of the same stable... both liking the CD1700s...

Hope you tame them better than I could!!

the Alessandro cans are an absolute bargain .

And the warranty is the standard Grado Labs warranty but since I never sent mine in I have no idea what it said

But from all I hear the service is good and the price fair.

The adapter is ESSENTIAL man !

I ruined so many jacks on portable gear fromthe heavy cord hanging off the solid 1/4>1/8 adapters . Good thing i am good with tools and the problem was fixable

Grattle ? Don't know why it never hit me . I sometimes play way too loud for extended periods when i am stressed out and so far no problems .

duncan,
the cd1700 is for when i want to settle back in my 10th row center seats and mellow out to the music. the sr125 is for when i'm on stage with the musicians rockin' out. i like options.

thanks, i also liked the sr80 very much, but the 125's have more bass control.

rickcr42,
good point about the adapter. they do have a heavy cord, and i can see how that could be a problem. i'll for sure pick it up now.
