I'm no audiophile but i do want a great sounding rig for as little as possible...

i dont want an amp ! thats final because the only amp id get would be a hornet and i cant afford that rigth now.

as for a source ive been thinking about getting a new ipod; i was thinking of gettin an imod but that plus the cable plus the amp = ****G!!!!

so i just want a player and some iems, ive heard the 6g is pretty darn good soudning just as stock so thats a plus.

what other players sound great just out of headphone out?

also what iems would you reccomend for under $500

cheers, jjz.

Cowons and Kenwoods are generally considered to have good headphone outs.

Why not just get a 5G iPod, then when you have the money you can amp it and when you have more money you can iMod it.

I don't know what your space requirements are on the DAP but the Trekstor Vibez paired with Denon's C700 canalphones is a terrific sounding combo that is way under your budget. I steadfastly contend that the Trekstor Vibez is one of the best sounding DAPs unamped. And it supports FLAC and gapless playback natively. Cowon's players are also very nice sounding DAPs.
