I don't know a great deal about which headphone amps are good, and I'm willing to use either solid state or tube. I need something to power my k701's, and I'm currently looking at either the canamp or a little dot 2. I listen to pretty much all types of music too. Thanks in advance.

I prefer a warm tube sound for use with my 701's. The 701's can sound a bit bright and shrill with the wrong source. I am a fan of Little Dot products and the new LD 3 has the option of more tube rolling to voice the amp to your headphones.

Well right now I'm leaning towards the 336i, and I've phased out the heed because I think I'd rather go tube. So are there any good comparisons of the ld3 to the 336i? pros and cons?

i suggest against the heed and i would say dump the 400USD onto something else instead

Suggestion: PPA v2, M^3, Millett Hybrid Max.

Interesting question. I suspect there are so few people with the MKIII yet that comparisons to the 336i will be hard to get.

Otherwise, I vote for the 336i.
