im looking for a gaming headset

ok what hasnt been said yet is that most headSETS are terrible compared to comparably priced headPHONES. so what u will always get is a headphone recommendation around here.
however- being a competitive clanner- i understand the need for a real headSET with an honest-to-God real noise cancelling unidirectional boom mic. i have many headphones and headsets. i recommend the steelsound 4h as the best headset in your price range. nothing beats it until you get to over 100$ headsets. i prefer it over my sennheiser pc350 headset.
thats why i recommend that u get a headset and a headphone if u can

so there no better HEADPHONES for the price?

because newegg doesnt have the headphones nor the mic.
and amazon takes 4 days just to process the headphones order.

harx700 are the best under 65$ except for the harx900. 35 and 59 $
these are both large and great for gaming. i suggest you wait the extra 4 days instead of getting something u dont really want

i need to place the order on newegg . doesnt matter if i want or not.

i need either the headset from there or a headphones mic combo
and my budget was cut to $55

Why not buy a cheap standalone mic? That's what I have paired with an ATH-AD700 (it's a bit out of your price range) and it works great.

i have that mic and it sucks.

I have no idea about the mic, I grabbed a random one, but the headphones are very well respected around head-fi, so maybe before you act like a complete jackass do some research?

@ the guy with the portapro suggestion: That was my first thought, but he has to order from Newegg, and they do not carry them.

the 4h has a thin cord but i have had no problems. its no thinner than a lot of headsets. i have a 5hv2 that has been through hell and survived also. (the 4h has more bass)

for under 55 at newegg only- the only options are the steelsound, koss, or senns.
steelsound for 50
koss headset- sb45 30$. decent sound, lots of bass, squeezes your head a little, mic is only so-so. sound improves greatly with burn in. does not have an inline mute and volume control
not many senns at newegg right now -the only real choice is an hd205 for 50$ (i havent heard it but i'm not a fan of lower end senns))
the plantronics 377 ive had has big sound but lacks range. the 367 has a bigger speaker- might be decent and is on special.
honestly i would go for the steelsound 4h, koss sb45, or plantronics 367
