Yes, I'm starting to get interested in the headphone world now, and I need some help deciding among a few pairs of traditional headphones I see have people that like em and dont like em for whatever reasons!

And I need to know what you guys could suggest for me and what I plan to use them for.

- Sennheiser HD280 Pro
- Grado SR-60
- Sony MDR-CD580

Since I know nearly nothing about which is better for what, I'm just planning on using the pair for my PC at home(gaming/music at night or when others dont need to hear me make a lotta noise)
On the road/bus with my PDA(music), and for when I'm playin' my Nintendo DS

Mostly I don't want other people to be able to hear what I'm listening to :P

Any suggestions or other recommendations for me? without "killing" my wallet?

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

My favorite pair of headphones is the sony eggo so i like the sony sound but i havnt head the CD580. I have had the HD280 and the SR60 and i still have them. They have ALOT better sound then the HD280 IMO and are more comfortable.

I would stay away from the Grado SR-60s for your purposes because of the small sound stage for gaming, and the fact that they leak too much sound at night. Also I don't feel that they are a good portable solution because they let in too much outside sound which will cause you to turn up the volume to compete, thus causing damage to your ears.

Sorry, but I like the wallet killing Senn HD 25-1, although they don't have much soundstage for gaming if you want that.

I wonder if the HD 25sp would suit? Never heard them though.

Otherwise, the Sennheiser HD280 Pro.
