I have some Philips SBC HN050 "noise cancelling" phones laying around (the cheap $h%& type that doesn't work....). They have nice miniature pleather pads though, so I took off the pads and looked around....saw my iGrado's.
So the pleather pads went on to the iGrado. These phones now have a lot of bass, I am saying it has more than even my BKH3/KSC55's. The KSC55's are said to have the same or more bass than the PortaPro, according to some (I don't have Porta's so can't verify that claim).
Try this mod and you might like the results, I sure like the sound a lot better than stock. Just wish the iGrado's are more comfortable. you might want to trim the neck band a little to compensate for the extra thickness of the pleather pads.
(Now why don't I use the pleather pads on the KSC55 so I get super duper bass? well, I tried, but the pleather pads made the KSC55 sound closed-in which I don't like. iGrado's are already closed-in to start with so the pleather padds didn't change the sound stage noticablely)
Have fun
