I assume you haven’t read the large post by ifi on the page earlier. Quote:

So yes. You can plug in bal CRS and unbalanced cables. Which is quite cool.

xDSD and Onkyo DP-S1

That's VERY sexy!

My short review for iFi xDSD :
*im listening the xdsd as a USB DAC*
This device really emphasized the details in the background within or the circumference of the head-stage. Im listening thru my iem: V -shaped, known for its heavy bass and sharp treble, however, xDSD really cover all frequency spectrum. im getting smooth and controlled bass and the treble surprisingly easy to listen although i apply the 3d+ compared to my micro idsd BL; its 3d+ to me, it just give a treble boost.
However, xdsd 3d+ is really indeed gives the 3d effect, sound stage indeed extends a little but it extends in all axis. XBass+ of xdsd is same as the micro idsd BL, it does give the more bass effect rather suffice not so overpowering.
The Bluetooth function it does connect but require few tries then it has successful connection, sometimes it got disconnected when no music playing/idling. Im indeed surprise the sound quality coming from a Bluetooth (known to have worse quality than the wired one)
Hisses can be heard when music is not playing.
i haven't really delve into to much on the digital filter, but i set it on measure as it give the whole music a "fun" feeling vibe.
Overall, xdsd is analytical, natural sounding and balanced device.
ifi xDSD > Fiio Q5 < Fiio X7Mark2
ifi xDSD < ifi Micro iDSD BL
Chord Mojo =/> ifi xDSD
Hugo 2 ......... i dunno i wanna believe ifi xDSD is almost there at the Hugo 2 standard......

Mine moves real smooth and quietly. Maybe you just need to move your up and down a lot ( with the power off).

I will do a direct comparison as soon as xDSD is in, but that might take a little bit more (1-2 weeks maybe)

well... audio is subjective so this is what i conclude... but Mojo and xdsd... after in depth listening mojo still the best, Fiio Q5 and Fiio X7ii they have almost similar SQ... due to Fiio Q5 warmth mids thats is why i choose the X7ii. many will disagree on this... some people might find fiio q5 superior than x7ii.
