    Well, if you're not working on it then I just remembered that we're yet to see an iFi speaker amp. Just throwing this out there.

    Cough cough. ifi Retro - comes with ifi speakers too if you want.
  3. Yethal
    I was thinking of something iCan sized that can be stacked nicely with other iFi products but you're right.

    @iFi audio, I have a question.
    My xDSD often stops playing over Bluetooth (I'm using iPhone X with iOS 11.3). When I close and reopen player apps (Apple Music and NePlayer), xDSD seems like responding to the music play as it changes or on/off LED lights. Player apps show music playing but no sound comes out from my HPs. Even turning off and on again the xDSD unit does not help. I found that choosing "Forget This Device" option from Bluetooth setting on my iPhone and re-establish the connection is the only way to fix this problem. This happens almost every time when I switch to the wireless mode from the USB mode. Is this a known bug with the current firmware (5.30)?

    Interesting. I have he same issue after around 20 minutes but not with the ifi but with an Astell & Kern BT dac/amp. But only if I use it in headset mode. As pure music player it’s fine and plays forever. Weird. Something tells me it’s software. - have iPhone X and 11.3 too.

    Same with me and iPhone X IOS 11.3, but no issue with AK300 via BT. Will be loading IOS 11.4 beta 2 this evening and will give the BT radio some work

    If you are looking for a portable DAC/Amp with BT / Optical / USB input and enough power to drive many headphones, this could be a device to consider. Battery life seems on par with what is claimed also. I am giving this thing a good listen and do believe it could be the all around portable I have been looking for.

    I take it you have this as well? How are you liking it so far?

    so far I like it. I have only been listening with headphones. I do have some IEMs, but they are cabled for 4.4mm balanced and until I get an adapter I wont be able to get a listen on those. I am even getting used to the patina that is forming on the chassis (is that a feature?). I am generally partial to dark chassis gear, but as long as it sounds good (which so far it does) I will look past a little cosmetic niggle like that

    What's your thoughts so far? Would you say its on the fun side or fairly neutral?
  15. captblaze
    Since you can tweak the sound with XBass + and 3d+ I would say more of a fun sound than straight reference, although there is plenty of detail retrieval and an ample (not huge) sound stage. Also, since I upgraded my iPhone X to IOS 11.4 beta 2 the BT connection is way more stable that with 11.3. So far this things seems like a bargain and the only thing that could possibly tank this thing would be poor battery life, and so far the battery life is comparable to iFi's claim
    howdy and Giraku like this.
