iFi audio xDSD- The Official Thread

I noticed that the xDSD keeps blinking white on the battery LED even though it has been on the charger for about 3 hours. Will the charge actually reach 100% and the LED will stop to blink? Or will it just goes on blinking forever as long as the charging cable is plugged in and turned on?

Sorry to ask... I tried searching more info on this but could not get any conclusive answers.... Does anyone has the same issue as mine? Thanks!

I've never noticed mine doing that. Is it turned on when doing this? Did you try a different PSU and lead?
Hi thanks for the reply.
I had mine turned off and plugged to a 5V, 1A handphone charger when charging.
Meaning yours will stop blinking completely when fully charged? What type of PSU do you use when charging?

Yes that's how mine works, I checked again yesterday when it was fully charged. I have a 4 port Anker USB charger that is capable of 2.4 amps per port, probably overkill for the xDSD and an Amazon basics micro USB cable if it helps.

xDSD stays a bit warm while its plugged in so I always unplug it as soon as the light goes out. I would try a different charger if you are worried about the blinking

Hi thanks for sharing.
I guess I need to change the cable.
It seems that the unit finally stops blinking after fully charged on a different USB cable. I'm still using the same 1A, 5V charger though.
So I guess the unit is kinda sensitive when comes to charging cables.

I'm using these to connect them.
These are OTG USB Type C cables.
The ifi one is more flexible if you want to stack the device together with your phone so that you could multitask on it while using.
The one on the left is from Lenovo which I ordered from Taobao. It is more rigid.
Both of them yields the same SQ.
and for Android devices, to fully decode MQA u shall also need this app installed:
USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP)

All good but it doesn't let me use my phone , I need a compatible USB extension cable like the blue one that comes with xdsd , no other extension cable works

I made a short one myself as I agree, there are limited options for this connection. I could also make a long one say 2m if I wanted I suppose. Are you any good with a soldering iron, its quite easy to DIY something?

You could actually connect the OTG USB Type C cable to the blue USB cable that is supplied together with the xDSD. I use this setup to amp up my car stereo and it works perfectly.

Yep, some of our staff have been doing the same thing in their cars!

Hey guys.............just wanted to chime in and say I've had my xDSD for a couple years now and REALLY love it!! It's so much better than using a smartphone, even the newest ones (I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+). I even used it for a headphone comparison just recently. The link to that comparison is here if anyone would like to read and comment on it.

Thanks again iFi!!!!!! :L3000:
