Jesus, after a year of use, I cannot use the bt through my device. Not sure what happened but it's not working anymore. Tried to force pair by clicking on settings, turned the knob counter clockwise, nothin . Tried to reach out to customer service hopefully this isn't a hardware issue. Would suck coughing up a ton of money to repair the device!

I have dealt just recently with ifi customer service and I can say only good things about them. The representative was very helpful and they agreed to help me in the situation were they could easily say no.
I know that when I'll be looking for new DAC/AMP in future (which might be soon enough) this will be definetely in plus for chosing ifi.

Sigh - I'm also having a Bluetooth issue. Seems to be a bit of a trend with this device. I was happily streaming via my Dell XPS13 laptop to the point where I had to completely recharge the xDSD. Since the recharge, it goes into Bluetooth but doesn't connect to my device. it doesn't go into pairing mode either. I've tried to force pair by pressing on settings for 3 seconds and get nothing.
I'm using it via wired connection at the moment but that's not what I got it for.

Extreme Warning!
If the device loses power (no more battery), and you then connect the device to an external power source, the device BLOWS THE **** out of your left ear.
I sadly and unfortunately experienced this just now. Seems the device powers back on into something like "line out mode" (absolutely MAX VOLUME) in the left ear only for about a second before reverting to the previous volume level. I have never set the device to line out mode so this can't be the problem.
Brand new to this hobby and now I can't hear out of my left ear. Will need to get my hearing checked to see if it will ever recover.
Extremely angry with iFi. If you value your hearing, DON'T BUY THIS DEVICE.

I have never experienced this issue, however common sense for any device is to not connect external power while the unit is on.

We're sorry to hear about your experience and hearing issues. However the product's line out mode, as there is one, couldn't engage on its own. Can you please tell us via PM what exactly you did for this to happen? Thanks!

It's exactly as I stated. I was listening to the device using Bluetooth from an iPad pro. The device lost power due to the battery being completely drained. I then connected the device to a USB power block (Apple standard USB power cube), the xDSD powered up and blew the living daylights out of my left ear. Loudest digital screech I have ever heard. Two days later, my hearing has not recovered.
Also, now the device won't pair with newer devices via Bluetooth. Older devices seem to pair just fine. For example iPhone 5s and ipod nano 8th generation will pair without problems, but an iPad pro seemingly will never pair no matter what I do. Note that before the device rendered me deaf in the left ear, it paired with iPad Pro no problem.

Hi iFi,
I was trying to pair my xDSD with my new Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. Initially the Note could detect the xDSD, but now it all of a sudden can't! I tried clearing the data and cache on my phone's BT app and rebooting, but that's didn't help. I even held down the BT pairing button but that didn't help either.
What do you suggest? Is there a way to reboot the xDSD?? I'm not sure if the problem is with the Note 10 or the xDSD.
Thank you!

I'd try to pair it with either different phone or PC to rule out the xDSD itself.

iFi and docentore,
I took a closer look at the manual and plus what an iFi rep who responded to me told me, and I see that blinking blue lights just means its awaiting a KNOWN connection. It's not until it blinks blue AND red together that it's actually in pairing mode. As a result of this finding, I was able to successfully pair the xDSD to BOTH my phones without issue. So, problem solved!!
Thanks everyone!
