To get the BEST results, you wanna use an app like Poweramp which allow FULL BYPASS of the Android/Snapdragon DAC so that ALL of the audio processing is passed onto the xDSD. I know other apps offer that too, but only a few others. For streaming though, not sure if Tidal etc offer it.
Well, UAPP does the same thing but it all works in case of a wired connection via usb otg, not sure if it makes any sense to use it for wireless connection.

Ok cool then.

For me, I use a semi-wireless setup which I find works best. I connect my smartphone to the xDSD via BT using Poweramp (with Hi-Res Output again, of course), and have my Beyer DT 1770 Pro connected via cable to the xDSD. The convenience is really nice cuz don't have to hold the weight of the cable to phone anymore, and sound quality is beyond anything I've had before even with semi-wireless BT b/c of that KILLER Burr Brown DAC and supporting implementation as well! (In the past I'd only used Sabre DACs, which are great too but not like this lol)

UAPP only make sense for USB conneciton if expecting bit perfect. Using Bluetooth from the xDSD is fine as it is and UAPP is not needed for bit perfect, use your favorite player. The best thing from the xDSD is the Bluetooth implementation, not MQA support, but well, it doesn't hurt a big package to add value to the device.

Let's park the discussion please. iFi makes headamps and DACs. Not Android Music Players. iFi is very much dependent on software developers who are willing to circumvent Android restrictions to enable Bitperfect/MQA. Since no vendors (except Google) are shipping their handsets with 100% standard Android builds, software developers keep hitting their heads against ever changing OS settings/limitations. Samsung for one is a manufacturer who knowingly/willingly modifies the Android audio stack to support their own internal DACs. Samsung couldn't care less if external DAC manufacturers like iFi are having a hard time with that. It's no wonder why there are so few external (or internal) DACs that support MQA. Aside from the fact that it requires an MQA license (at additional cost) it also causes headaches because both Android and iOS (as well as their device manufacturers) are so audiophile-unfriendly ..

According to my knowledge UAPP is the only one who has successfully bypassed the standard Android 16-bit audio renderer limitations and knows how to enable Bitperfect mode in order to allow MQA on Android devices (both for internal and external DACs). And the devices list that UAPP supports is constantly growing.

So instead of giving iFi a hard time about a video that represents something that was once working on a certain device with a certain Android build, let's respect the fact that they build awesome devices with awesome decoding capabilities ...

This post is a spot on. Thank you very much, you nailed it.

2 days ago I had a strange problem with my xDSD.

First, it discharged completely. I connected to an usb port to charge, some minutes later, I tried to use it, it was not recognized by all my devices, the Input led was on, the kHz led was off, no music at all. I turned on and off many times, changed from usb line to bluetooth, nothing. I was worried, since it is not the first time that happens, what I'm not sure, is if this happens only at low charge.

Is this normal at low charge? I actually had to wait one hour to it to take some charge and then it worked fine.

Can you shoot us a message on our support platform here please:

Our tech team would like to know the reason for battery drain.

Thank you!!!
I am asking a lot but... any link from Europe?
Well, not sure about Europe. I buy Nobunaga locally in Moscow.
Eidolic I believe has some exclusivity with doublehelixcable and norneaudio in the US. They all ship to Europe.
