Yup. I always try and point to a real source so that I'm not talking out of my bum (we all do it sometimes). Found this:

"The Bit-perfect filter originated in CD-77(called Digital Master Mode) then on AMR DP-777 (Bit-Perfect mode) and should ensure unaltered transmission of the data at its original bit-rate and sampling frequency."

Were can I get a cable that will work can you help.
Thank You.

At the risk of sounding too obvious, the iESL is supposed to have the correct cable included in the box. Have you dug through all the materials? If you know it's missing from the box (or even if you've purchased it second hand) I'd contact iFi through:
1) the general inquiry contact if you bought it second hand to see if they'll sell you the part or
2) the support ticket system if you purchased it new and have it registered

Lastly if you're really impatient like I am, you can buy a HDMI spec cable. I doubt the folks at iFi will be able to tell you which ones immediately available to you have compliant grounds, but a dealer may be able to help. As an example someone at a company like Blue Jeans cables would be able to tell you immediately if the cable is built to spec. *I have no affiliation with Blue Jeans.

I've found iFi's support team very responsive, and that avenue is typically better for a product issue or sales inquiry. Hope that helps you get your cable faster (or found) :)

[Edited @iFi audio posted a direct support link just prior, and I corrected Blue Jeans company name]

Ok pulled trigger, bought it from Adorama. They didn't have it in stock but talked with the rep and they will drop-ship it immediately from their wholeseller..

Going to place the Mytek Dac+ on Ebay...

Man, audio is addictive..

Hi, As I have been considering the Brooklyn DAC+, ADI-2 DAC (from RME) and this Pro iDSD dac - and seeing how you have experience with at least 2 of these, can you comment on them and what you may prefer from each? I plan to use it as a dac only with VERY infrequent headphone usage. I like the upsampling ability from the iDSD as well as the higher output voltage on the line output but am most interested in the difference in sound between the two. Any insight you can provide will help. (Oh also, do you have any idea what the voltage output is on the Brooklyn DAC+ line outs? I can't seem to find that info listed anywhere).

Thanks!!

Anyone running the iDSD other than through USB? I’m thinking about getting an ultraRendu and runny HQ Player server.
