OK. What is a GTO filter? I really only listen to streamed files from Today (up to MQA) and Spotify so I don't know if it would be useful.

It's a very clever digital filter we developed to for those users who like to change sound profile of their iFi products a bit.

OK - fixed that and succeeded.

1) Do I need to turn it on (like Bit Perfect, Standard etc) on the unit?
2) My box has an MQA sticker and the c version firmware. Even when set in the sound output on the iMac to iFi Micro and in the selected in the Tidal streaming menu, the LED remains yellow when playing Tidal Master files. Should it not be Magenta?

Let me ask you first what iFi product you refer to ?

Micro Black Label.
I figured out the magenta bit. I had to allow Tidal to have control of the unit.
I’m still not sure if I have to turn the GTO filter on and what music formats it works with though.

The GTO filter works with PCM only and in order for MQA to work, it needs to avoid any filters. So if you have magenta LED present, you're good!

Nope, the GTO is applied in auto along with FW to all PCM streams. That's why all PCM data will have the same LED color.

Thanks! Just snagged a pair of Focal Clear Professional at a bargain price so looking forward to trying them with the unit.

My only complaint - if you can call it that - is that the iPhone connector is not included in the box along with so many other connectors.

If it was a portable device, then yes. But Pro iDSD is desktop, so there's very minimal need for an OTG cable

I’ve been leaving mine on (SS mode) when not in use, but I’m wondering if it’s necessary?
