There was always the option to turn off the display, but maybe they could have posted a warning in the manual in regards to the OLED screen burning in. At the moment the manual only states that the screen is OLED and if you are familiar with the issues this type of display has, you know that burn in is one of them, but if you are not, well.. you just get to see the effect after a while.
As a user you can't expect this to be a major problem if the manufacturer allows the user keep the screen running on high brightness non-stop. Also if the screen is prone to problems, maybe choose a different technology or no screen at all.

Anyone know how the iFi Neo iDSS compares to the Chord 2Qute?
This guy made a series of comparisons of the chord qute. I don't remember exactly all the details, also see the reply below mine about it.

Keep in mind that the qute series only offer a single RCA output and only wired digital inputs. The idsd gets you a pre-amp and XLR in addition. I've certainly considered getting the 2qute and qutest over the years, but haven't been able to demo them yet.

I for some reasons have only seen Thomas & Stereo’s review of the NEO now and how he compares it with the more recent dacs as well as at the end compare to his Mccintosh D150 dac that cost over $4500 back in the days!! His views pretty much aligns with mine except it didn’t seem he spent that much time on the unit and did not comment on the dsd playback which is clearly the NEO’s strength!!

I got to try the Ifi Neo Performance Edition, it has the latest firmware updates and comes with the USB Purifier and SPIDF Purifiers. The sound is definitely carries the Ifi audio classic warm sounding dac/amp

Thanks a lot and yes, NEO iDSD sounds like one of our products indeed :)

I sent it back. With the new one I'll let the screen dim to be sure it won't happen another time...

Apologies for that inconvenience!

Wondering what everyone thinks of the filter options. I went from factory to bit perfect to minimum phase and I think I like that last one the best because of imaging and dynamics.

For the Neo, my taste agrees!

How do you change the filters on the ifi Neo?
Also, my performance edition did not come with the ipurifier or USB purifier hardware. I have a support ticket out to IFI but they haven’t replied in 9 days

Appreciate any help you can provide on changing filters!

Thanks
