i doubt anyone would do a direct comparison. but judging by the specs, besides the amp, the two are almost equal

I would think the DAC and the balanced implementation is also different. I would they they would sound distinct from each other. However, the only way of knowing would be impressions and personal preference.

The user manual says its recommended to use the supplied USB3.0 cable, so I would say yes it does.
