Will my netgear switch labeled 12V 0.5A work with ifi i power x12 V/2.0A.
As per what @nxxo wrote, it should work well.

What sound improvements could be expected with this tweak?
Absolutely nothing.
Feedback we got on this specific subject is a mixed bag. Some customers said that a quality PSU for their switches did nothing. But some folks who used iPower with network switches designed to work in audio setups (I'll skip brand names) listed the same improvements: cleaner background in music and less grain.

Haha  That's debatable - even though I won't disagree with you, I like to have good power supplies in my whole chain, which might be a little bit OCD.
Probably if your brain tells you that it's better you'll hear a difference but it's been a long time since I believed in the unicorn :)

just get the half-cheaper older non-X version and send it back if no audible improvement, to top it off it's black and doesn't illuminate like a xmas tree.

personally the lights don't bother me, BUT the color I have to admit it's not very nice.

And the new (100% pricier) X version comes with the exact same 1uV ripple spec as the old one, a lot of unproven claims regarding how it's so improved over the old one but no proof whatsoever.

I don't know, I've never compared the two versions, but one thing is sure, it sounds as good as an LPS-1.2...I know I did the test

Uptone's crazy expensive PSU's are based on LT3080 that comes with 0.8uV spec, there's a good chance you would be equally happy with the old 1uV non-X version.

Of course ripple spec is not everything when it comes to PSU's according to this comparison: https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/super3-a-supercapacitor-lps-by-farad-power-supplies.29931/ but any tiny improvement will cost quite a bit and if the powered device comes with a poor voltage regulator you'll lose any improvement over a cheaper PSU anyhow.

I somehow feel the design

At least ifi claims that the input and output capacitance is improved by 50% and 150% respectively. But not too many hard facts otherwise..

I'm from team bang4bucks, only problem with old iPower is that reliability can be a hit & miss after a few years, hardly a problem if powered device comes with its own voltage regulator but if power is fed untouched and *IF* reliability of X newer version has been improved then the latter would be a better option I guess in order to avoid frying the device if it ever started malfunctioning and outputting +50% voltage like my 3yo 9V iPower did sporadically.

So... would you give it a thumbs up then :) ?

Depends on how strong the light is. Its more dim light then strong? I wouldent want to illuminate the ceiling in a dark room.

Would this work as a charger for ibasso dx220? Can this wprk as a charger for android based devices. Or is this only a power supply.

Do you have many ways to test this yourself? you remove one and put the other, unless you have another way to test them at the same time

I personally believe that for any object where there is a battery, Chord Hugo, ibasso, etc., this is useless, because the power circuit must always go through the battery anyway, whether it is connected or no. and going through a battery you already have the best DC power in the world
