All the HiFIMan secret sauce in in the amplifier, right? I can use any DAC with the Zen Can and still get HiFiMan secret sauce?

Our EQ was designed to work specifically with HifiMan's cans, but any other similarly profiled headphones would benefit from that EQ as well.

Might want to fix this: :grimacing:

I don't think you answered my question.

I don't think you answered my question.
As far as I know the ZEN DAC Signature is not designed to work with particular headphones, only the Zen can Signature that has the secret sauce netting in the eq button
Btw I can't believe the Zen can Signature can handle all Hifiman headphone models with 1.6w max output.

What I'm wondering is why not release a Zen can that has a small hard drive built in where you can then adjust the different Eq presets to the headphones with an app?
That might be another way to still have a manageable selection.
At some point you have 10 Zen can versions that are only matched to certain headphones.
Should actually be possible and feasible, I think.
I thnk this is a great idea. Some SSD storage, or even a removable storage... that would definitely get my interest!

Yes EQ implementation in DAC’s are rare, only option I’ve found was Qudelix 5K and RME ADI.

If Qudelix could do it you can do it too iFi!

Yes, the secret sauce is in the CAN itself. You can tie the CAN to any DAC of your choosing and still receive it's benefits!

I doubt you will see something like this at us anytime in the future, as when we have EQ, it will always be analog or variable analog as seen in our Pro units.

Thanks for responding! May I ask what benefits of doing analog EQ?

Since Qudelix can fit it inside their small unit, would it be possible for you add something like that to all of you units? And still give the possibility of analog EQ as a PRO service?

Really like all products you release, and the Diablo is something that the market needed, was little disappointed that you didn’t include a xBass feature on it. I’m a basshead per see, so was hoping I could bring my beloved HE6 with me to the hammock.

It's not because of the size, but rather our product mentality. Size is not everything.

It allows us to provide more choices for our end-user, improving upon common feedback for popular headphones, through our industry experience.

We also are not fans of a "pro" service for any kind of product we offer. We will never ask for people to pay more for an add-on service on top of a product they are buying.

Again, as we stated on the Diablo thread, xBass would have detracted from Diablo's purist design.
