This ifi Diablo has really nice features on the paper as portable DAC/AMP.. the USB-C power input seems to be placed at a far more convenient place than the signature's one.
Unfortunately, what seems definitely to be missing, is a Bluetooth 5.0 Input for the DAC (990Kbps). It would have been a nice complementary tool for our smartphones, as I doubt it can be easily used as a portable tool attached via an USB cable.
I would dream a Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G for Qobuz attached to removable 1Tb (of DSD and flacs) on an ultra compact USB-C OTG card reader sending through BT5.0 LDAC at 990 kbps (24b/96khz) to the ifi Diablo connected to a heddphone by hedd which needs 2x1.5W to produce full sound spectrum with nice attack in ultra low frequencies.
With the Diablo, we can dream to be finally totally free at home to listen to our music where we want in a sofa in the living room, near my office desk, lying down in my sleeping room or just sitting in the garden under the spring sunshine.
Actually there are not so many options on the market and I tried some without success till now :
-> I bought a cheap Xduoo XD-05plus which is almost dead in 6 to 7 months (terribly noisy volume Knob with imbalanced sound) with BT5.0 connected to my smartphone or WM1A
-> I stupidly bought the theoretically very powerful A&K Kann Alpha with 12V output, but which is a typical Chi-fi item, as it is almost unusable in real life for streaming as it is limited to 15 minutes playing Qobuz as Wifi falls asleep every 15 minutes... and no firmware to expect like always with A&K.
-> I am waiting for the controversial CENTRANCE M8V2 ordered last May 2020 .. but still not in my hand (but should finally arrive within 2weeks), and I doubt about the sound quality after reading some measurements on the web.
So pity that the Diablo is not intended to get a BT5.0
But ...as I am totally tired of all the Chi-Fi developed items I bought which are basically :
-> very nice announcement features when ordered,
-> working more or less tike announced when received, but often, with unexpected limitations (Fiio M11) or are even almost unusable (A&K Kann Alpha with terrific Streaming features)
-> often made with very low qualities components, dying within a few months (Xduoo with a very poor volume knob)
That I want to quit this Chi-Fi world and go back to much more serious development brands from Europe(Hedd/Focal)/Uk(iFi)/Usa(Apple/Dell) and Japan(Sony)/Korea(Samsung).
But .... with those serious brands, announcements features are usually a bit more limited than Chi-Fi. In the case of iFi, the missing BT with ifi Diablo is not a big deal in itself, but, nowadays it becomes really comfortable for a portable DAC/AMP as the connection to a smartphone is in 24/96.

True, the rattle is from the switches... something else that I noticed, when you place the unit on the table there a weird thud from the internals, just feels that the unit is not rigid. Not saying this is a problem, but my OCD .
Unit is well built. I like the switches and toggles, definitely an improvement over the BL. Can't put my figure on it but is just missing that tank feel.
So finally figured it out, the PCB on my iDSD signature is loose. if I put my figure on the 4.4 or the 1/4" jack and move it up and down slightly, the PCB moves and makes a clicking sound. My black label is solid, it does not have this quirk.
Can I please ask my fellow signature owners to chime in and comment if they see the same in their units?

Doesn't sound like a common problem at all ~ open a support ticket with us and one of our support team will get back to you soon: https://support.ifi-audio.com/open.php
Heya, I would love some help if possible, I switched my laptop to an Apple Macbook Pro M1 and suddenly Amazon Music HD only recognises the Signature as a 24 bit/48 khz device, I thought Macs didn't need any driver... I'm also getting some random disconnects from time to time, less than one second but they do drive me crazy. Any ideas?
