iFi audio iDSD Signature - The saga continues!

Hello guys, I m a new to head gear. Today I bought the signature and I m very excited..!!
I have a question, my player is the Samsung Galaxy Note s20 ultra connected to signature with the ifi otg cable. When I run the tidal and the track says Master the light on the signature is yellow, is this right..?? The manual says for mqa the light must be magenta.... any help.
Sorry for my english.. I m working on it.

Yellow light means that iFi Signature is not decoding MQA. The light should be magenta. I believe you need to enable "MQA Passthrough" on the Tidal app. By default, Tidal App will use software MQA render so iFi will never see original MQA file. I'm not sure you will hear any difference in sound quality though.

Are you sure that Tidal app for android can be recognized by ifi? It works for iOS i know.

OP already said he can connect to this phone but just wants to know if he is getting MQA unfolding.

First I pay and download the usb audio player PRO and second I purchase the extra pay inside the app for MQA playing.

The app says MQA flac but the signature stays in yellow light..

Are you in bit-perfect? You are not connected to DAC, I see "direct" on the screen.
Play with settings. The Signature is not recognized. It should be "USB Dac" or something similar instead.

Play with usb audio settings or any other settings. UAPP should see the DAC first. Try to disconnect / connect the device until it recognizes it as a USB Dac. I don't have the signature yet to check but it should not be any difference with other ifi devices .

Something is strange here...UAPP usually recognizes a USB DAC from the first connection. As I mentioned it above I can not check, my signature has not arrived yet... sorry.

I'm more interested to use this as a desktop dac/amp. Does it power/charge from the usb input on the back or do I have to keep a usb c cable around to always charge it every 12 hours ? I really want to buy this but I need to know how this would work as a desktop unit

It does NOT charge from the USB port. You will need to charge it via USB C. It can still work as a desktop unit. That said it isn't something you set and forget.

I am amazed at how many people keep asking or thinking this will charge from the input. It is seemingly the most answered question.

I’ve found two things - not only does it require another usb-c cable to charge but it also should be disconnected from a computer to prevent discharge even when it is off.

Really not a huge fan of how this was done.
