If your headphones were an alcohol...

So, I was just sitting in my listening chair, drinking a White Russian and listening to Ray LaMontagne, and I thought, "You know, these HD-600s sound like a good port wine. Full-bodied, sweet, sometimes thick, but in a good way."

And then I started thinking about other headphones I've owned, and what alcohol comes to mind... like... DT-880? Crisp, sometimes refreshing, with a bit of bite that's not always pleasant... vodka. MS-1? Definite bite, with a punch, although still full-bodied enough to be refreshing in the right mood... IPA.

So, I guess I'm curious: if you had to compare your headphones to an alcohol, what would it be, and why (don't forget the description)?

Here's to hoping this thread doesn't piss somebody off and end up in the "Signal-to-Noise Ratio" thread!

I predict many messy and contradictory metaphors. People have even more widely differing oral tastes as they do aural tastes.

701- Rolling Rock Light bodied beer you could guzzle a lot of and not get sick.

RS-1 - Jose, from the first shot, it's a party.

HD- Cherry slow gin. Thick, sweet sound & cheap buzz that got old quick and put you to sleep.

I'd say my L3000 remind me of Johnnie Walker Blue. Just like the L3000, it comes in a blue silk lined box, is individually numbered and the color of the alcohol color is similar to the leather cups. It's taste is punchy, yet smooth and refined.
