I can say that, IMO, the OG 7Hz Timeless would fall short of the clarity and details of the ER4XR -- I had it for only about 2 weeks before selling it for be very dull sounding to me. The CFA Andromeda models could rival the ER4XR in clarity and details, and would have some lower warmth some people miss in the single BA ER4XR.You could try a well-regarded planar-magnetic set like the OG 7Hz Timeless or the newer 2024 Letshuoer S12.

Just out of curiosity, if there was an option to have the ER4 response in a custom IEM shell, would that be of any interest to anybody here?
Yes, actually. YU9 Audio offers that service with all the configs, as B/S/P. At least for me the more complex thing is to actually have the ears scanned and sended into an file formatJust out of curiosity, if there was an option to have the ER4 response in a custom IEM shell, would that be of any interest to anybody here?

They wouldn't look like that, but more of a standard custom IEM. I'm about to launch a custom IEM company and am considering having an off-menu option for some of ER4 lovers.

Yep, crafted in the USA.
The ER4 is not a focus of the business. I am just considering offering it as an homage to my past work and a way to accommodate folks that asked for it from us for years.

BTW, did you ever try to get Zach interested in building a wood-shelled IEM?

It’s definitely come up as a discussion point, but nothing concrete. There’s a lot going on for both companies right now.

The EVO is still the best IEM I have. Just that edge better than my ER4XR.
But I could live with ER4XR as a custom IEM.
