you only got to get as much of that million as you could spend MSRP on a sound system. the rules are that you have to work from the outlet up, so no rewiring of the house allowed, no structural remodeling either. that and you can't have any redundant components. you can only use one format and when you run it, all parts of the system have to be working.

anyways, i was just curious since i've heard around the campfire legends of 80,000 dollar speakers and such and it seems some people here might know of more such retardly priced componentry.

could you max out the million? i just want to hear ball-park. you don't need to think too hard if you know about these kinds of things. i'm just curious. (don't cheat by buying a mile of cable or something like that either. unless there are benefits in fidelity from doing so that i don't know about of course

oh man i got to quit this hobby.

fine then. a billion? can they make a speaker that costs a billion? cause i need to go shoot the man who has the gaul to charge a billion dolllars for a damn speaker set up.

I have actually heard $1,000,000 Bose speakers, believe it or not. I don't remember the model name, but their sound quality was pretty damn impressive - about equivalent to these: http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.asp?edc=316680

One could spend a million easily in this hobby (think 7.1 sound), but I think you would be long past the point of diminishing returns.
