You can have 1 headphone, 1 dac and 1 amp or you can have 1 headphone and 1 integrated dac/amp. You can buy everything used if you want.
For me:
Headphone: HE1000 v2 $1800-$2000 (used in excellent condition)
DAC: Schiit Gungnir ($800 -$1000 used in excellent condition)
AMP: McIntosh MHA100 ($2200-$2500 used)
Currently I have McIntosh MHA100 with HeK v2 and HD800s. The DAC section is fine for the MHA100, but I'm researching for a good DAC to go with it.
