[Headphones and Coffee]

Just wanted to know I have a credit at a HiFi store and I'm not sure what headphones to get. I like both closed and openback over the ear headphones.

The choices are overwhelming.

I’d buy the hd600, HD650, or the Massdrop hd6xx. For $300 or less, you can’t do much better.

+1 for the Sennheisers, 600 or 650.

They have limited ZMF, Sennheisers, AKG B&O and a few other but you can order anything.

If you are looking for more fun signatures and can get both with the $300 credit...get the Fostex T50rp and Philips Fidelio X2.

It’s a tough choice because everyone’s taste is different. For people who are experienced with headphones, I would say that the best in my opinion is the Sennheiser hd 600 and I like it more than the hd650. I got my HD 600 B stock for $230. Which is a killer bargain imo.

Some people like the AKG sound more and AKG can have some headphones discounted to less than $300.

While I do like the very expensive headphones, IMO $300 or less is really all you need in life for audio excellence

Meze 99, AKG K7XX, Audeze Mobius, qdc Neptune, Sennheiser HD600 are the best in that price range. Also, best for different reasons.
