what would they be?

Im talking Ambient Dub, Ambient House, Ambient techno; and electronica based ambient sub-genre.

Im a little light in this genre and am looking for super chill stuff with rhythm and melody.

So what are your top three?

oh boy, I love electronic-based ambient stuff, here you go
Biosphere - Substrata 2
Global Communication - 76:14
Beautumn - White Coffee

The list can actually go on and on and on, such as "world receiver" from Tetsu Inoue, all albums from Basic Channel, "A Brief History" from Suns of Arqa, "Gyral" from Scorn... etc.

Harold Budd's "Avalon Sutra" is my most favorite ambient type of album however it's more neo-classical style rather than electronica.

Hmmmm...

-Miles Tilmann, Loess & Low Profile Society - 3D Concepts (Crystalline, delicate IDM - somewhere between Bola and Xela)
-Gas - Nah Und Fern (this may be cheating, as it's a 4-album package) (Ambient/techno - if you like Yagya, you'll like this)
-Digitonal - Live at Oxygen Bar (Orchestral-flavored sparse IDM)

I'll return with some more 'ambient' recommendations.

Einaudi - Divinere
Einaudi - Echoes
Brian Eno - Ambient 2: The Plateaux Of Mirror

Theres 20 albums i could put there, i decided to pick the ones i listen to most often, that seemed the best qualifier.

Wow.
With the exception of Ludovico Einaudi (whos music I love but do not consider ambient) I have not heard of any of these artists.

Can you guys put the type of ambient in your posts as well?

Here are some tribal ambient recommendations...

-Mathias Grassow, Klaus Wiese & Ted de Jong - El Hadra: The Mystic Dance
-Byron Metcalf, Mark Seelig & Steve Roach - Nada Terma
-Alio Die & Antonio Testa - Healing Herb's Spirit

Also, for the most mind-meltingly psychedelic electronic music you've ever heard, check out anything and everything that Matt Hillier has done. If I had to choose 3, I guess they would be:
-Ishvara - Magik Square of the Sun
-Colourform - Visions of Surya
-Ishq - Orchid (followed closely by Elve - Infinite Garden)

I think "chill"-type music with rhythm and melody would be more like cafè, or lounge...ambient is something else...so would depend - i'll give you two sets of choices based on the above (i'll try and think mainstream for this):
ambient:
zen - gong (Michael Vetter)
substrata 2 (biosphere)
humidity (robert rich)
lounge:
anything from koop
g-stoned (kruder and dorfmeister)
(and what the heck) where there was nothing (bovaflux)

not my best of the bests - but what i can think of 4 now...
