HI!
If you could only keep one single IEM/headphone of your whole collection, which one would you keep, and why?

Personally, from the phones I own at the moment (SM3, RE-252, IE8, Radiopaq Jazz, HD-555)  I think I would keep the SM3, because they offer the best balance between isolation, sound quality and comfort. I like my IE8, but only enjoy them during bedtime, low volume listening. They don't get much more eartime than this. Moreover, isolation is poor so it's not very good for commute.
The HD555 are simply outclassed by all my other phones (except the Radiopaq I bought as a backup). And finally, I really love the RE-252 on my Musiland DAC, and I think I like them even more than my SM3 at home. But outside (on commute), I find isolation could be better and they somewhat lack bass in noisy environment. So I would pick the SM3 as a general purpose IEM.

And you?

Going by what I've heard.

Universal - FX700 (or SM2). Custom 3 would be a close second (strictly going by sound though).

Custom - 1964- Q

Now, regardless of custom or universal>>> 1964-Q

From the ones I have owned - HJE900, re262, DBA-02, Ortofon e-q5, FA Silver Bullet - and those I have heard - Monster Miles Davis and Etymotic ER4 - I would keep the HJE900 because it does the music I listen to most (metal+hard rock) the best. Plus it has excellent build quality and replaceable cables and very good isolation with triple flange tips.

I've got it narrowed down to three - SM3, Miles Davis and Triple.fi.

Oh wait, I forgot the CK10, DDM and IE8.

Nuts - I'm still waiting for my Custom 3 reshell from Fisher.

Okay, I give up!

my answer today = headphones- D7000 and IEM-TF10.
I am assuming that I get one of each but If I only get absolutely one, then D7000 but since the title asked for IEM TF 10

Might change tomorrow depending on what I am listening to. That is why I am going to sell the other temptations around and just leave one or two or three back-ups  lol

I'm going with my FX500s with the foam mod to rein in the trebles.  (Wish I had the FX700s!!)

Can't decide between the SE420vPtoS, SM3 or Klipsch Custom 3 >_>;

All enjoyable in their own right =S

Not so easy, heh?
I learned at least one thing buying expensive audio stuff: the more I listen to new stuff, the more I take conscience of the limits of my gear, and that's not a good thing for my wallet

RE-Zero/RE-252/RE-262

I think i would go with ...RE-252

But I am waiting for the RE-272 to come out too.
