I have been ripping alot of second hand CD's brought from amazon. My view is why buy new if you'r just gonna throw the CD out after?

And I assumed if the optical drive ripped the discs it was getting perfect quality like new.

Is this true? Are there tiny differences in quality with dust, small scratches & finger prints on disc?

Now im feeling superstitious & want to re buy all my cds new.

If EAC says a rip is 100% accurate I trust it, regardless of the disc quality. I've been able to get good rips off some pretty pitiful disks in the past.

So long as you are using a good method for ripping and it says it's ripped fine, i wouldn't worry about buying new discs :)

+1 Use EAC or DBpoweramp and make sure AccurateRip is set up. That will tell you if your rips match other people's.

Digital plays or it doesn't. The spoor of previous owners doesn't affect the sound.
