Hi all,

Just like to know your thoughts on IEMs that are definitely worth keeping. Of course there are high end customs like JH13 pro amongst others, but I'm sure there's several special IEMs which you still use for their special qualities.

Care to share your thoughts?

Worth keeping:
Klipsch X5 (my favorites)
Yuin PK2 and PK3
Sleek SA6 (sold to reduce inventory)
Head-Direct RE2 (good detail)
Koss KSC75

Not worth keeping:
Super.fi 5 Pro
SoundMagic PL30
Denon C551

Thanks for the input. This could serve as additional reference for other users.

When customs (or your fav IEM) spoils, it helps to have a backup. I guess this would be the motivation in creating this thread. For me, it's my livewires 3 and my superfi 3. I know I'll be getting a better standby soon.

I've killed two gears from my own stupidity--some Ety ER6s, and some Denon C551s--and since then, I notice that there are phones I risk (running, gym, weather, drunken frolics), and phones I protect:

Protected:

Shure SE530
Atrio M5
RE0
Altec Backbeat Titanium 326 (Even though at $25, I could easily replace them)

At Risk:

Ety ER6i
Super .fi 3 & 5
Senn CX500
RE2

Definitely ER4. While many complain about wanting more bass. No IEM at any cost exhibits more detail and transparency. It is unique in this regard and a killer IEM at the $175 pricepoint.

IE8 are the main keepers for me because they have something special about them that makes them a lot of fun to listen to and because of the potential to upgrade to custom replaceable cables. FX500 are also keepers because they're made of wood and they bring some good qualities to the table in terms of bass and accuracy in timber.

sub $200, the ER4 hands down. it's a classic for a reason.
