IEM's for metal head

A friend of mine is looking for a good pair of IEM's for use mainly with metal. Budget of around $150 canadian...recommendations anyone? And is there a good canadian online store anywhere?

LOL! I can imagine headbangin' with IEM deep in the ears. Potential brain cancer if continously pumped with the likes of Napalm Death, Fudge Tunnel, Destruction, O.L.D, old Sepultura etc....

Well anyway, I immensely enjoy listening to GODFLESH & Iron Maiden tracks on my ER-4P but I think that may be slightly out of your budget.

Shure E2C are able to rock out pretty nicely, I have enjoyed System of A Down on them.

The Altec Lansing im716 are usually on sale on amazon, and ebay. Usually around $100 CAD. Unfortunatley they only ship to the states. To my knowledge, no good canadian stores exist. Your best bet is to go to a Tom Lee or Long and McQuade music store, and haggle for a better price.

I've seen them at some london drugs

EDIT: Plus www.ncix.com can order them, and not only are they based in canada they have four stores in the lower mainland.

I love the Vibes. But if your friend really wants heavy bass, V-Moda makes a Bass Freq model which apparently rattles the skull. And he'll have quite a bit of money left over.
If he wants SQ for rock, Vibes for sure.

The Altec Lansings, being derived from Etymotics, are naturally quite good with metal.
