I lend my CX-300 to my friend last week. He tried it and said the bass is not enough =O (i always thought CX-300 has enough bass). So, here i am wondering what IEMs or canalphones has bigger bass impact and depth than CX-300. I told him to look at Atrio M5 and SF5 EB, but i don't have either so i'm just guessing by all the reviews that i read in this forum. I also just ordered C700 (my 1st real phones

.
Oh, my friend using Ipod unamped so maybe that's what make CX-300 bass suck ? and i am using D2 so there will be SQ diff, maybe.

Yes, the M5's pair very well unamped with iPods. Worth the expense, if he can at all justify the initial cost (actually a very good value, in terms of price vs. performance).

Also -- was he inserting the CX 300's correctly? Good fit goes a long way in determining fullness and impact ...

he said the CX-300 has good bass, but not enough. He said he just want a IEM or canal phone with alot of bass (maybe the one that can actually vibrate the inner ear

). Budget is around $100-200. He has PX-100 which he said perfect for him.

Stretch the budget, get the Westone UM2's. IMHO, those blow the PX100's out of the water in every way.
