Hello

I'm curious to know what other head-fiers would recommend as IEM upgrades for me.

I currently have SE535LTD and really like them but like most humans I always want more. I've been eyeing the SE846 but they are a lot of money and I'd also have to get new moulds which adds another £200 on top of their already eye-watering retail price. So curious to know if there are better options.

I mostly listen to electronic music, dubstep, drum n bass, psytrance and I'm a bit of a basshead although I'm very skeptical that sub-bass can really be enjoyed properly without a subwoofer.

Also availability of custom moulds is an absolute dealbreaker as I can't deal with earbuds.

Any comments most gratefully welcome :)

for $1500? lol

Actual proper subbass a la subwoofer is difficult to implement in the context of IEMs. Proper implementations not only means that the bass has to reach deep, it has to move air as well. As such very capable DDs can move air better. Sony's EX800ST and EX1000 can move air easy but I think you will find that the subbass presence is lacking.
