Hey peoples :)

So I'm currently looking to purchase a pair of IEMs for portable use and was wondering if there were any good suggestions other than what I have already narrowed my choices down to.

I currently own the AKG K550, Sennheiser HD25II and Monster Turbine and of all these I prefer the AKG's sound signature the most (so something more analytical and neutral I guess). I also listen to a bit of everything but mainly JPOP, Classical, Rock and EDM.

Currently considering the Shure 535 (second hand) and Audio Technica ATH IM02 and would love to hear your suggestions on how they compare with each other as well as other earphones out there which could potentially be better.

On a side note, I live in Aus. so prices are a rather inflated, potentially limiting my choices for this price point.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't heard the Shure SE535 specifically but I have heard the Shure SE535LTD which does not sound neutral and analytical at all but the mid range on them are fantastic with JPOP. I would imagine they sound somewhat similar though.

Hmm, thats interesting, I would've thought that the SE535s were amongst the more 'reference' IEMs around. Guess I'll need to give it a listening to when I get a chance.

Anyone else have any other recommendations/comments?

535 are far from being reference , they are mid-centric

Shure SE535 arent analytical and a little dated imo. See if Fidue A83 meets your requirements.

How would you say they compare to the im02s as I'm not too sure if it's really worth the price jump when I can get a new pair of im02s for $200 AUD

They seem pretty good but quite a bit over my budget, I should also add that I would prefer new rather then second hand for warranty purposes, shipping costs etc... unless there's a vast improvement/value gain between a cheaper iem and a more expensive model

I bought a set of flac8s second hand and I'm very happy with clarity and options to tune according to genre and preferences ..... here's one currently for sale if you're in the US ...   http://www.head-fi.org/t/815388/flc8s-for-sale#post_12746190

FLC8s would be the best choice I think :)

I should've made this more clear but I live in AUS so anything outside of it will probably incur a ridiculous shipping cost, FLC8s also seem to be rather rare in Australia, any other suggestions? They do seem like excellent earphones though, will definitely try them if I get a chance to.

penonaudio, shenzhenaudio and LMUE have the FLC8s with free worldwide shipping. you might consider the DN2000, or even 2002 if your budget allows

Dunu Top Sound all the way. DN-2000 if your ear holes are on the larger side (if you normally use large tips), or DN-2000j if you care more about comfort. these are known giant killers, also check out their newest one (2002), haven't read too much about it my self though.

There are some new comers in this range i haven't heard too much about but these offerings from Dunu are known to sound good vs respectable IEM's costing 2-3 times more.
