I have a pair of shure e4cs and i love the way they sound. I would like to buy a pair of full sized HP to listen to at home. I would like them to sound similar to the e4cs but better in every way! I listen to pretty much all types of rock, electric, acoustic, etc. I have heard that she HD555 is a well rounded hp for the price. I would like to spend under 200 bucks. clarity and comfort are at the top of my list, followed by an acurate bass that doesnt overpower. i dont plan on using an amp and they will be played through my computer and sometimes 5g ipod. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have heard that it isnt worth the upgrade from the hd555s to the 595s. Is this true?

Good question and one I've been asking myself as well. I am a true Alessandro fan, but I also love my HD600 so I'm getting more and more curious about the entire Senns line. I would wonder if the HD555/595 isn't the analog of MS1/MS2i, where the sound is about the "same" but the HD595 just sounds "better". One thing I am curious about is the relationship between "sound" improvement vs "materials and workmanship" improvement. With MS1 to MS2i there is a reasonable sound improvement but an absolute major improvement in materials and workmanship. I wonder if the SQ improvement between HD555 to HD595 is greater than from MS1 to MS2i or about the same?
