What are some of the best IEMs for vocals?

Male vocals vs female vocals.

I think IEM threads dedicated to certain types of music can be very helpful.

Right now, my favorite IEM for vocals is the NF Audio NM2+, both for male and female vocals. I like the note weight, which is full, but not warm or cold. Vocals sound so sweet and natural, but are not very intimate, which I actually like. It helps with imaging IMO.

Male Vocals: Penon Volt ->>>>> Dunu SA6 ->> Sony Z1R

Female Vocals: Sony Z1R -> Penon Volt -> Dunu SA -> Tanchjim HANA -> NF Audio NM2+

I also find after getting the Cayin N3Pro and using its Tube Amp especially in triode mode, I can grab just about any earphones in my collection and enjoy vocals.

Moondrop Blessing 2 have amazing mids, male and female vocals shine, female vocals more so, Etymotic ER4S also have great mids, very uncolored with beautiful female vocals reproduction

For sub $100, my vote goes to HZSound Heart Mirror, excellent timbre for acoustic instruments and vocals. It is neutralish bright but manages to push vocals forwards without veering into shouty territory, a very difficult fine line to balance. Also has very fast transients and takes EQ like a champ. Needs amping though, sounds meh from smartphones, and soundstage is not the widest, plus note weight is on the thinner side.

oh i forgot to mention , Hisenior earphones are mid centric, but they boost the lower mids, if you are into that kind of sound

How you describe the sound of NM2+ , is that thin and bright ( to the harsh level ) and how is the timber , thanks ,

I consider it neutral bright with mildly boosted mid bass. It is well balanced and is not colored sounding. It is certainly not thin and too bright for me, but the upper mids are boosted. The lower mids are very full, though not warm. The timbral accuracy is excellent IMO.

For sub-$100, the FiiO FD1 absolutely gets my vote. FiiO works wonders for budget-restrained audiophiles.

Received the FD1 today and after a quick listen before some overnight burn-in, yep for this price range it holds vocals from the edge of misery. Male vocals better than female for now but expect after a few hours this to even out, this is just via a Samsung S9 phone.

I have to say in general I am impressed with some sense of stage also, which at this price point can`t be sniffed at. Just as comfy in the ear as a Westone IEM also.

This could be a little gem with a decent source and amped.

Vocals in general: - Westone 4, like butter.

Two of the not smoothest and not preferrable for vocals for me. They just have some eccentricities I dislike. And most annoyingly expensive as fug.

iems in that "I'm not payin for that" catagory.

Moondrop stuff tend to work well with vocals.
