My current portable setup is Fiio X5/E12A  and IE80.
I am pretty happy with metal on my current setup.
Though I  want to try something new that are good for rock.
I am not sure what sound signature is good for rock, some says mid-centric, some says balanced, some says V-shaped, please enlighten me on this...
Suggestions from friends are  ATH-IM03 and Shure SE535 but I am not sure.
Are these two good for rock music and works well with my setup?
Any recommendation?

I would advise you to stay away from the SE535s for rock/metal.

Can't comment on the IM03.
