I'm driving myself crazy here. I have spent hours and hours researching different IEMS that are good for death metal specifically. Now, from what I'm reading -- a v-shaped signature is a big no-no for metal. That's fine. My wife stole my ATH-M50x cans and so i'm stuck with soundmagic e10s which, to me, are okay but not satisfying in a way I cannot articulate. The music maybe doesn't feel detailed enough, I don't know. Here's where I am:

Assuming I need a more neutral sounding IEM, my concern is that the bass will be too recessed. I'm not a basshead, but one thing I really love is really getting a good punch from a solid kick drum. That's the extent of the bass I feel I need. I just want percussive percussion. That said, I've been looking over several different options. Here's my criteria:

specifically good for death metal
detachable cable
budget, ideally, around 100 dollars. Will spend more if it's absolutely a perfect match.
Please god, no sibilance

The top 3 contenders are Tin T2, Tin T2 plus, and Tin T4. Additionally someone suggested the Fiio Fa1.

So the main question I need an answer to is -- will any of these provide a good 'kick' on the bass drum, given that they are considered bass-light? Which one of these would work best? That's where I keep having doubts. Well, it sounds like a good fit, but what about the kick drum?

Seriously please take a minute and help me because I am actually making myself crazy here.

U can ask for more recommendations here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/bes...nd-impressions-sharing-reference-list.805930/

I don't listen to death metal, so best you ask the others for their advise and recs! Good luck!
