IE80 ripped wire | Help repairing

Dear Head-Fi community,

My beloved IE80s have ripped, its been over 4 years since I owned them. I have a picture below of what it looks like. Sound doesn't come out of the earphone anymore...

Any advice/ideas what I should do?

Amazing...one last question, will a cheap set of cables badly impact the sound? Should I buy something from a known brand?

those cables that i showed you are probably better than the stock one, so no, go for it
